History and development
The company was founded in 1960 by Janssen de Jong B.V., a Dutch road building company. In 1986, the company was sold to “Albo Holding Company N.V.”, domiciled on Aruba. As a result of this transfer, N.V. Arubaanse Wegenbouw Maatschappij became a sister company of Albo Aruba N.V.

Due to the close cooperation between these two major companies, N.V. Arubaanse Wegenbouw Maatschappij has evolved into a highly respected firm on the Aruban construction market. By the end of 2004, the shares of Albo Holding Company N.V. were sold to "Janssen de Jong Groep". That is how N.V. Arubaanse Wegenbouw Maatschappij returned to its roots. Due to its many years of experience, N.V. Arubaanse Wegenbouw Maatschappij is able to handle any kind of project in its field successfully and to the complete satisfaction of its clients.

N.V. Arubaanse Wegenbouw Maatschappij is an independent and financially strong company. Because of this, AWM is in a position to issue any necessary financial guarantees or securities for the projects under construction and for those still to be contracted.
