Albo and AWM sign contracts for the construction of the new container terminal on Aruba.

N.V. Arubaanse Wegenbouw Maatschappij and Albo Aruba N.V. have been awarded contracts for the construction of infrastructure and building offices, garage and warehouse for the new container terminal at Barcadera.

AWM’s scope consists of the utilities piping, earthwork, paving and other infrastructure work, while Albo will erect all the buildings.

Currently, AWM and Albo are working on the maritime part of the container port, where a new track for a crane is being built and the existing quay wall is extended so more and larger ships can moor. This project is being executed for American Bridge Company. ABC is now working on the water works of this project. They have been this contract by the Aruba Port Authority.

The realization of these projects will take approximately one and a half years and there is an amount of about 50 million Aruban Florin involved.
